Greg's Studio

This is a one-day, hands-on workshop that meets on:

Friday, May 31st, 2024 // 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

I was first introduced to ceramics in High School. I went on to earn a BA in art with a
focus on sculpture and ceramics. After graduation, I delved into various art-related jobs before renting a studio to sculpt and exhibit my work. In 2020, I established my own ceramic studio in Woodland Hills, equipped with electric and gas kilns. About a year ago, I began Raku firing, building a dedicated kiln for this technique. The process has become a passion, offering excitement and satisfaction in completing firings in just a few hours. Now, I work full-time in ceramics, exploring hand-building, throwing, and slip casting. While I primarily use cone 10 reduction glaze firing, I also enjoy the effects of mid-fire oxidation. The thrill of the heat, the dance of the flames, and the satisfaction of completing a firing in just a few hours makes Raku extremely satisfying.
