Sliding Scale Pricing:
There are Sliding Scale price options available for this class. Please select the scale option that feels right for you and your current finances.
The high end of the scale is the true cost of the class, and we encourage you to select this if you are able as it will allow us to continue to expand our affordable class options for all.
There are a set amount of spaces for each option, and if one is sold out, we encourage you to register for the following month or reach out to our studio team at classes@stilllifeceramics.com.
This class will be held at our new DTLA location: 588 Mateo St.
During this four week course, you will learn the basics of hand building through techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction. We will also go over surface decoration and get creative with glazing. Handbuilding is a freeform, meditative process and you'll be able to use your skills to create a variety of objects like teacups, vases, bowls, planters, and small sculptures.
This class is perfect for those who have no prior experience with clay, as well as wheel throwers who would like to try something different. The fee for this course includes covers instruction, clay, tools, glazes, and firing, plus open studio hours outside of class for more exploration in clay.
Classes are two hours long and run for four consecutive weeks. We strongly advise you to make sure you’ll be able to attend all class sessions before signing up; make up options for this class are limited.
Classes are for adults 18 and over; please click on the Policies tab above for more.
