In this workshop, Lynne Meade will show how to create pierced forms from thrown or hand-built pieces. Participants will get to create their own pierced form. Throwing and/or hand-building experience is required.

On the first day, you will either throw or hand-build a form. The second day will be piercing and cleaning up your form. Clay will be provided.

  • Sunday, May 19th, 2024 // 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm 

 

 

Lynne Meade currently works out of her studio in Oakland, California. Her works in clay exemplify stunning form, intricate detail, and subtle beauty. Lynne's modern design style is mesmerizing and her meticulous technique breathes originality. Meade collaborates with designers, architects, and individual clients to create unique pieces of art for both public and private spaces. Meade has been exhibiting her sculpture and design work since 1987. She studied at Penland School Of Crafts and graduated with a BA in Ceramic Design from Wesleyan University in Connecticut in 1986. She has taught classes at MIT, The New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Walnut Creek Center for Community Arts, ASUC at UC Berkeley, and workshops around the country. In 2009, Meade received the Carol Duke Artist Award for Excellence In Craft at the Bellevue Arts Museum. She has permanent collections at American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California and at Benedict University Museum in Chicago, Illinois. In recent years she has exhibited at the Smithsonian Craft Show as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show.

For cancellations made fewer than 4 full days, but more than 24 hours before the start time, a 50% refund or 50% credit toward another class or workshop will be issued. We cannot provide refunds or credits for cancellations or rescheduling requests made fewer than 24 hours before the start time of class, if you miss your class, or arrive too late to participate.
